Suhail Island, one of Egypt's Nile Islands, is located south of the city of Aswan. It has a typical Nubian village that is a destination for tourists to learn about Nubian culture by visiting their homes. It was originally a quarry from which the ancient Egyptians extracted Aswan granite. The population of the island is 4,180 people.
